After a long long time, Bollywood has produced a timeless classic & it is Rockstar.
I remember the emotions & feelings I had after watching 3 color white! One doesn't forget the feelings after watching Pretty Woman or Arth! Rockstar is all about that precious memories. It deserves a 5 star thumps up & critics may disagree with me but then we are in the business of introspection rite? Give a da#$ to them!
Imitiaz Ali has all reasons to be called the next generation Yash Chopra. After Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kaal, here comes his best creation Rockstar. Not so long ago, I met this man in a flight to Mumbai and can't imagine that the same guy can be so creative!
Ranbir Kapoor...you have arrived. I don't have any doubts that Amir Khan will be jealous of you! So be it man...u simply rock. The complete movie is about you n you only. I can see how desperate you have been till this day. Complements! You have a gr8 future!
Rehman...thanks for that tight slap...yes to the critics who downplayed you for CWG. I think after Taal, you have created an album which one can treasure for life.
Bravo! The Shehnai number....i had tears..not sure why! Each track is beautiful....!
Mohit...I had told you...every dog has a day...you have got yours dude! What a treat...what a voice...you gave back the old feelings of hearing Kumar Sanu classics!
And I can go on...why I have 5 stars...but the movie stands tall for its theme about a troubled soul painfully confined between his passion for strings & love of a friend. Both grow within him and both make him special!

No one knows the answer. Indian Railway is slowly turning out to be a man eater these days as one is shocked to see almost 70 people dead and 100s injured.
Its a pity that we don't have a minister who can head the Railway. That said, why would care about a politician? Who has time to think of railroad modernization & safety measures. In this country, few things really run by God's will. Perhaps, you are lucky if you just escaped death and reached safely!

Sometimes wise men end up doing stupid mistakes and that's how they are remembered for wrong reasons. Remember Amitji's misadventures in past...well he is one special legend who can bounce back and prove all wrong! But the way Amir Khan has orchestrated his beliefs through Delhi Belly, sadly he has lost faith from many; well, I can speak for myself after watching this movie last week...i had a nasty feeling.
Forget about review, the whole movie is a bakwas kahani of 3 stupid stooges with background scores of farts, toilet flushing, chudails, shits and 3rd grade gali galoch!
Not to mention the relevance of DKBose and we all understand the meaning!
Unnecessary is the only word that comes to my mind! Certainly Amir, this is not the way you can just produce shit movies, come to promote and advise children not to watch. Why so much rebuking and what we are portraying on Delhi by the way? What messages one get out of this...how to be vulgar in Hindi and English?
Pathetic! Ratings ...1 out of 10!

First things first, I didn't know that NOTW was 168 years old and it is UK's biggest selling Sunday tabloid. In which case, UK will miss it. During my stay at London, I had real chance of reading it. Didn't like the journalism involved as it was full of sensational celebrity stings, photos, adds, classifieds and what not!
This tabloid has been creating sensation like we have India TV showing breaking news. NOTW always believed in sting operations, intruding personal spaces and bringing celebrities to limelight. That works till you work in public interest. Then we hear stories of hacking phones of innocents like the martyrs of Iraq war n their families! Shame! This is blackmailing in black n white!
I watched British Parliament session on this and felt for the nation as how it is getting victimized by media. Then came the shocking news or rather NOTW style sensational news that Mr. Murdoch has decided to stop the tabloid!
It may not be entirely a tactical move from the media mughal, but it surely a damage control action. I kind of liked it. One man's strong response to a whole nation...after all just few hours before, UK was demanding action, and he took it in his style!
Coming back to NOTW's closer, it is strong reminder to all those headline grabbers, journalists and media houses who do sting for TRPs and Ad revenue! That is why may be our own The Hindu differs from TOI. Don't forget the Indian journalist's god-like behavior these days as it chooses to create sensation in the name of news! You may think the reader decides finally but hold on reader can stop buying a paper or choose not to watch a channel, but reader can't teach ethical journalism practices to media. That is why, NOTW had been so popular but for few criminals, it is really sad to see an 168 year old institution closing down! No one knows what will happen to those 200 odd employee!

Its been a long & tiring day at Planet of Apes...don't laugh! For me, the world is slowly becoming a planet of apes..where idiot box will be waiting to narrate sensational breaking news...another fast by some other Baba or govt denying PM to be in Lokpal, rising rape cases on UP or even who fed wine to the elephant stories!
The bottom line is my best recreation TV has become a nonesesnse object these days. The new seasons of song and dance competitions do not bring an erection to my senses neither I like the family dramsas or tarak mehta's stereotype commedy!
NGC and Discovery don't have any attraction either neither do HBO or WB.
Life after office rather after clients seems to be with family. I have a wonderful one!

I was thinking about lokpal...wait a sec, I am no Anna Hazare! But can we ignore what's happening around us? Yes, I now got it...got to watch Gandhi!

The crisis in Japan & Apocalypse

My heart goes out to those who have been affected! Soal breaks to see those bone chilling footage's of earthquake, tsunami and now radiation fear! We have seen apocalyptic movies to imagine such scales of fury. Believe me I had never seen a boat standing on the roof top of a 2 storey building, houses on fire but floating on water, an airport being converted to an island or ships, fighter jets, flying planes scattered in debris!

Anyone ever watched 2012? Some folks laughed at the Mayan theory of Armaggedon that's heading to us on 21-12-2012! I had not given any thinking to it neither I justify it apart from just liking the special effects and applauded the imagination of the director. But it was slowly over ridden with Avatar...memory fades and here we are with real horror in Japan!

If you recall real events from recent past, first it was in Heiti...next the revolution in Arab world...now the Japan episode is running round the clock in panic-box (TV ofcourse!). From the poorest of countries, to the middle east crisis and the richest like Japan, everyone has received a taste of nature's fury! Evidence is clear that Earth's core has shifted by inches after the recent 8.9 scaled quake! Unthinkable...but true! Naive...yet logical...question remains same...is it going to be real in 2012?

May be scientists can bring facts such as the earth, moon & sun are not going to be in the same axis..or predict about future solar eruptions...or even correlate effects of solar eruption on earth's core. The truth is solar eruptions happen frequently...don't believe it? Just visit NASA's site and you can watch it live/recorded!

The other thing that comes to my mind is, Is Japan safe anymore for human habitation? The kind of earthquakes, aftershocks, tsunamis, nuclear radiations that is happening, aren't there other alternatives to be explored such as mass migration?

My Good Lord, ever imagine about such an full sclae earthquake or tsunami effect on India...? The effects on our economy....and everything else!!! Whats wrong in thinking...whats the harm otherwise?

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader- My Review

Ok. Here is the 3rd Narnia flick that I watched recently. This time though with 3D glasses. When you have Harry Potter series finale part-1 already running across theaters, you gotta have high hopes from any fantasy movies. Though Narnia doesn't fail entirely, but it also doesn't succeed as one should have expected. Definitely it is not going to be a blockbuster but it will do some business, much better than the 2ND sequel (Prince Caspian).

Set after a year from the 2ND sequel, the two younger Pevensies Edmund & Lucy are transported back to Narnia along with their cousin Eustace. With the new King Caspian, they set the journey to rescue seven Lords from evil on he Dark Island. Anyone of you who wondered like me (if you didn't read the not so popular book of C.S. Lwice) then this is the first ship that Narnia has ever seen. The journey is full of mysteries and yes, you can see special effects minus bone chilling experience!!

I wonder, when a director along with producers do a movie of this budget, why cant they focus on the longevity & connectivity an audience wish to see. The movie is short. It starts with a weak script and ends suddenly when you really wish to see some more action! And there's no proper dark evil that you see in action against which such hype has been created in first place. Next comes, Azlan! Poor lion, you must be complaining for some more scenes! Michel Apted, please show some genuine art of direction. All you have ended up showing us is bits and pieces from Lord of the Rings or Potter flicks. Above all the script is boring and you never get a grip on the story.

Georgie Henley is no Emma Watson. Though both have grown over screens, Lucy displays her teenager influences. Her innocence has vanished and somehow I am not convinced why she has the temptation to be as beautiful as her sis!

Liam Neeson's voice for Azlan doesnt impress much. What makes the movie running is the tog of war & lite comedy shared between Reepicheep (Simon Pegg's voice) & Eustace Scrub (Will Poulter).

Well well well, guess what, I have 3 Stars out of 5 for this. Its worth to spend Rs. 250 for watching it in 3d. But hey, forgot to mention, there isn't much 3D impact that would through an arrow at you and you move side by side to avoid it! Go and watch it if you are a die-hard Narnia fan!

One thing is straight...I had bigger expectations and the rating is 3 out of 5! When you expect a movie for one long year with high hopes to see lot of actions as this is the Part-1 of the finale, the movie doesn't fulfill it!

The movie almost revolves around Horcruxes that Harry, Ron & Harmione are searching to destroy. There is not many scenes where you see Voldemert also. This one minus Dombeldoer & Hagrieed (he has a lil presence though) makes the lead protagonists do their lonely battle. I kind of liked it but you know, much more could have done!

A request to David Yates...dont let us down in the finale! Get inspired from Peter Jackson & James Cameroon.

I heard it from a friend few minutes ago and got amazed to see the whole idea of bringing Radio Cab funda to Auto Rickshaw segment. Two IIT graduates from IIT Kanpur (Janardan and Mukesh) have this daring initiative which has started in Pune from February 2010.

What's important to note, the surveys they have conducted in this regard & published the statistics on customer satisfaction. Now who commutes daily by an Auto Rickshaw can understand and agree to the statistics. A President and the entire cabinet of ministers standing by, hundreds of family members surrounded by media personnel, the glimpse of hope had finally became a reality! The first miner walked through earth's crust to its surface! It is a world record to survive at almost 700m down under earth for 69 days. What is most stunning is the spirit these 33 brave men have shown to the world! It reflects great team work, coordination, perseverance, patience & fight for survival.

Inception Theory in Real World!

Last week I watched Inception. It gets a 5 star rating from me. Amazing movie and recommending to all my readers. If you have already seen it can you think of the ending? Leo (Cobb) finally goes and meets his kids…the dice is rolling…when it is (may be) about to fall, the end title rolls. Is there a sequel in store? Must be! Was Leo still in the dream or in reality? The ending leaves you guessing.

Coming back to the climax, the whole idea of planting an idea in someone's mind via dreams seems to be peak of Nolan's imagination. Once you plant and idea, then phase out and drop into dreams within dreams…my God! And next, return back through drops of dreams! Writing and directing such a story is not simple. One must have tried to resemble the inception theory in practice. Just think what happens if this is really possible? Or let's say, one day some folks really make it work in practice. All sales men can become security consultants as they won't have many things to do in their own profession. And boy if you put it into IT industry, I bet, no customers would be able to find defects. The whole world can be upside down in dreams just becoz someone just planted an idea in your dreamsJ! Let's say, you planted an idea in a terrorist's mind to surrender or of peace that can do wonders for world peace! My God, where is the end to these dreams? What's the benefit of dreaming…what's the harm otherwise!!

IPL Snub to Pakistanis...What's the big deal?

I am surprised to see the reactions from all quarters about Pakistani Players being snubbed by IPL3 franchisees! Its a pity that Pakistanis are so hurt and bruised and people across the border have started shading crocodile tears! Here are the reasons why one should term these reactions as over reaction!

Indian Premier League (IPL) is a private body that organizes matches. It is no where connected, controlled or managed by Government of India.
IPL contains few franchisees who have invested in millions to form their teams. Ultimately, IPL franchisees are Indian Businessmen who want to make profits out of cricket-plain and simple)
IPL Franchisees bid for international players with heavy amounts to procure/hire resources (players)
This time, around 11 slots were available to be filled and franchisees picked up appropriate players according to their choice. (After all its franchisee's money/investment...they have the rights whom to choose or whom to exclude)
Around 50+ other players didnt get selected this time. No players from Zimbabwe or Bangladesh could get a berth. Many big names like Brad Hadin, Grame Swan, Bolinger etc didnt get a chance.
Pakistanis were similarly excluded for obvious reasons. Its for their availabilities. Why? Remember IPL2? These same players were not allowed by Pakistan Govt to play in India. All the Franchisee's had to pay the price.
This time no one wants to take a chance with Pakistan. Not even am admee of India. B'coz, for obvious reasons that one can realize through introspection.
Then why this buzz all of a sudden? Pakistan Players never cry if they dont get short listed for English County Cricket or even KFC Big Bash? Why they are worried to play in IPL?
Its all about BIG MONEY dear. Dont bring Nationality to it. Today Pakistan Int. Minister Rehman Mallik feels its a big insult by India coz their players didnt get a chance for IPL3. Tomorrow, they will cry if a Pakistani software engineer didnt get a job with Infosys or TCS!
Govt. of India, yesterday clarified that they have already issued 20 Visas to Pakistani Players for IPL3.
If Pakistan Hockey Team does not want to visit India...so be it! Whats the big deal? Togo didnt play in the African Cup recently...the tournament didnt stop right!
Pakistani MP's dont wanna visit India....then what...??? Who cares...after all Pakistan is a victim of these politicians. What the heck they would have done in India...we have bucket full of MPs here and we are already in headache!
Pakistani players wont play in future IPLs...! Oh my god...1as if as a result billion Indians wont get food!!. Common stop these kraps! You dont wanna play thts your problem...you would loose out big money...and some other players would earn!
Once for all, no one understands but understands it clearly it is TRP that gets going for any news on IPL, India & Pakistan!
Common man wonders what is the benefit if Afridi hits a six for Chennai Super Kings or for Karachi Lions???
If India as a country snubs Pakistan in a cricket match both on or off the field, then this buzz would have more entertaining for us. After all we are accustomed to Pakistan's over reactions to nonsense most of the time where as their entire nation goes deaf when Indian people die by Pakistani Terrorists!

I watched the promotion laughter riot on Zee TV. Saloni was running in slow motion to meet Afsha! My God..."Abtak TV me tumhe dekha tha...aaj aslime dekhne ko mila" was the best one liner of the show! The chmistry between both the baal kalakars is amazing. What Saloni has made to the stand up comedy in India is spellbound. A tiny lil girl of her age bringing smile for every face is just amazing. She has grown up in 2 years to be so famous...audiences across world have been amazed. After a hectic day's work, you can expect a lil gal to bring a smile for you...thts only possible by Saloni.

Coming back to Bhavnao Ko Samjho, Sunil Pal's daring efforts to produce and direct a movie is really appreciable. A person who once worked in a tea stall and used to sleep in footpath bounces back to produce and direct a Bollywood flick is not less than the script of shaping dream to reality. Sunil's persona speaks of a common man's vision to grow from strength to strength. What's more significant to mention is for the first time 51 stand up comedians such as Raju Srivastav, Jonny Lever etc. have been roped in for this movie. Some claim this is going to be placed in Guinness World Records. Songs of the movie are song by renowned singres to give it a thumps up start.

We wish all the best to Sunil Pal for his marathon efforts behind making this movie. I for sure will book a ticket and watch it! I think our comedy industry deserves a thumps up too so does a very deserving Sunil Pal.

After the success story of "Paa", is there any doubt in anyone's mind to honor this Living Legend?
It was Friday, the 4th Dec 09. I had to rush out from office at around and straight to nearby SRS Wedding Mall. I was impatient to watch Big B's performance. Th movie started and after 10 mins, I was lost in Auro's world. Believe me, the rest 2 hrs was one of the best experience I had ever had watching a movie with so much expectations. Amit Ji, my tribute to you for taking Bollyood cinema to another level with such a fantastic performance. For the shake of 100's of teary eyes inside the theater, I was relieved and happy that, you have once again lived upto our expectations. God Bless You and may you live another 100 years!

I came back home thinking of Auro's World. Turn up the TV. There was this channel which was talking about Dada Saheb Phalke Award which is kind of India's biggest award for Actors. My curiosity drove me to search how many times Amitji has own this award! To my surprise of the life, he had none to his belt!!!

Isnt it a shame for Directorate of Film Festivals of India (DFFI)?? Out of hundreds of superb performances, you cannot find a single to this Man who is undoubtedly a Super Star Legend?? I mean is this the way we honor talented actors in our country? It is definitely dirty politics that has made the Big B a victim to be excluded from the DSP Award! If not he...then who do you feel deserves this award?? Noticeable to mention hear that Mr. Bachchan has been awarded by France with their country's biggest award! Its pure injustice the way we ignore a man of honor in our own land!

I have started this campaign to steer a movement so that Amitji gets the award at the earliest. I also request all equal minded folks to raise voices on this issue! Please post your comments so that we can allow these deaf dump DSP Award Jury members hear our plea!

Flavio Briatore, the Renault team chief - along with number two Pat Symonds - will go at once for their alleged role in the "Crashgate" scandal.
The team said it will not dispute claims that Nelson Piquet Jnr was asked to deliberately crash in the 2008 race in Singapore.
The plan, according to Piquet, was to force a safety car on to the track, thus helping team-mate Fernando Alonso win the Grand Prix. Renault said Briatore and executive director of engineering Symonds have left but would not say whether they were sacked.
The hearing into the matter by the sport's ruling FIA will go ahead on Monday but the focus is likely to switch to what sanctions should be applied.
The credibility of sport sunk to a spectacular new low yesterday. If a team boss can persuade someone to crash a racing car at more than 100mph, risking his life and the lives of spectators, what hope is there? That is what Renault concede happened at the Singapore Grand Prix last autumn, when Nelson Piquet Jr claims he smashed into a wall on the instructions of his bosses Flavio Briatore and Pat Symonds to help Fernando Alonso win the race.
It makes Harlequins coach Dean Richards asking a player to bite on a blood capsule to fake injury in a vital match look almost reasonable. Are there any lengths to which cheats will not go?

Football fans, sick of the diving and play-acting in the Premier League, were outraged when Arsenal's Eduardo appeared to dive to win a penalty in the Champions League three weeks ago.
The 2006 Tour de France winner Floyd Landis was exposed as a drugs cheat and the 2007 favourite Alexandre Vinokourov also failed a dope test.
Ben Johnson tested posi-tive after winning Olympic gold in 1988. Former Olympic champs Linford Christie, Justin Gatlin and Marion Jones were all exposed as drugs cheats.
And last year, a review of possible match fixing in tennis urged that 45 matches be investigated.
Cricket has many such true stories of match fixing. If cheats will succeed like this, sports may finally lose its credibility!

The Declining Popularity of Balika Badhu!

Don’t raise your eye brows or don’t rate me as a biased page3 journalist who is driving a new TRP war.
The truth is, I am a DD man who lived in Malgudi Days and often sang Tanana...Tananana...na. I used to be a big time Fauji serial fan. SRK used to be my style icon since then! Serials of 80's & early 90's Ramayan, Mahabharat, Guniram, Neem Ka Ped etc. have their own spark in my memory lane. Then came "Hum Paanch" when Zee was newly launched in 1993. But thereafter, no serials could abide me to sit in front of the TV as TV was reduced to be an idiot box. Until recently, when I returned from USA, there was this new channel Colors spreading its wave across India.
My mother, a die-hard fan of "Kyun Ki Saans..." had also lost her patience from TV serials until my newly wedded wife brought up the news of "Balika Badhu". Every evening when I would be reaching home by 8.30 pm, TV would play Balika Badhu. I never watched it...never even stopped her till that day! I was passing by the drawing room...Balika Badhu was on...Anandi & Jagdish were in full swing...Sugna's Mehndi was progressing and she was in blue moon dreaming about Pratap. Then all of a sudden I told my wife, stop watching this if you don’t want to cry next week. She said why? I said this Pratap of your Sugna's dream will die soon!
Now, don’t ask me how I knew...I just said...blame my sixth sense...Pratap died...and I was glued to Colors!
Since then I have been watching this serial. What I liked was the sanctity, purity & cultured rhetoric of the drama. Dadisa's mental torturing of her Bindni's, her fight for holding the propitious old traditions and bhairav's infighting to transform her towards modern society. The sudden introduction of Farida Aunty was nothing less than an icing on Cake and Shyam could have not been more charming the way he fell in love with Sugna.
Slowly, day by day, this drama looks to be losing its charm. May be, by now Soloni is no more Chhoti Miyan as she has grown up to be Gangubai, may be Shaym is married and started staying with Dadisa, abandoning his parents, what’s intriguing is Balika Badhu is slowly losing its popularity. The directors of the show seem to be extending the drama unnecessarily. For instance, Anandi's parents losing their land and begging in front of Dadisa to get it back episode was so frustrating. The old Kajol Bhai of Hum Panch, Bhairavi Raichura, looks to be overacting (crying and crying!). Her fear for what would happen if Dadisa comes to know about their poverty (landlessness) doesn’t correlate with her begging for Dadisa’s interference infront of Ananndi! (At least they have money to buy a new land!!) Like me, many might have felt awkward in last episode! Similarly, what happened to Shyam’s plans to do justice to his studies! At least he could have moved to a city searching for a new job instead of staying at In Laws’ place!
The directors need to focus on the message they want to spread. The sole idea of abolishing child marriage should depict the serial’s unfolding stories rather than what happens to her Parents' agony for land! The drama should showcase transformation of old rigid society towards a modern one! The more you divert from this theme to extend episodes, the plot will get weaker and so as viewers like me would lose interest!

Crumbling Hopes

Is there a way to avoid crumbling hopes brick by brick? One can be smart, visionary & optimist but at some point, he is dependent on others to execute the objectives to action! A temple is envisioned to be built offering spiritual sanctity to a community. A temple therefore needs a group of masons & creative artists to design shape & color it. A priest finally inaugurates it and millions offer prayers there on! Thereafter, God becomes the integral part of the Temple. Nevertheless, bricks and mortars which hold the temple tight to its foundation structure remain vital for its stability in silence.
We realize this when a storm strikes and re-validate corners of the temple verifying each brick's bond. If one of the bricks is corroded, cannot withstand the wind pressure it fells... others follow and the temple crumbles!
Don’t ask me why I am speaking of the bricks, mortar & temple today.
I can even correlate bricks with resources and temple with an organization. When mortar becomes hope of professionalism, masons & artists resemble leaders. Weathering a storm may not be difficult these days, but surviving its impact is not less than a slow poison. It’s like you have a throat infection with cough, clod and headache but you tested positive for H1N1 virus!
3 bricks have fallen apart and one more has loosened today. The storm has passed by and optimism seems to be fading. When hope crumbles and everyone around is unsecured, one question remains intriguing…can the Temple survive?

He collapsed at his residence in the Holmby Hills section of Los Angeles, California, about noon Pacific time, suffering cardiac arrest, according to brother Randy Jackson. He died at UCLA Medical Center. Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office said an autopsy would probably be done on the singer Friday, with results expected that afternoon.
He was Michael Jackson!

As for today, it is a decade that has passed by, but memories of their heroisms are as fresh as anything in my mind. One such painful moment of lost glory describes a soldier’s introspections before death when we remember our own. My tribute to all such Hero’s sacrifices…May their souls rest in Peace! Amen!

The attacks on the police academy located about six miles inside Pakistan from its border with India were taking place as the Dawn Op-ed writers were pontificating on the law and order situation in Pakistan.

So to the political masters, the Sahibs and Sahibas of Pakistan, I ask, what is the frontline status of Pakistan?The revolution of 1979 forced the Shah in to exile and brought Ayatollahs to power in Iran. America was locked in to the Cold War against communism promoted by the USSR. The global oil crisis of 1973-74 had made the world’s second largest oil producer Soviets petrodollars rich as oil prices in 1970s increased from $10 barrel to $80 a barrel. Soviets occupied Afghanistan in 1979.

These events collectively forced America to switch its frontline state strategy from Iran to Pakistan. America was joined by petrodollars rich Arabs of Persian Gulf and Red Sea – collectively the world’s largest oil producers – to provide material and financial aid to Pakistan under dictatorship of President Zia-ul Haq in 1980s to build a jihadi force of Afghan refugees and tribal Pashtuns east of the Duran Line to challenge Soviets in Afghanistan.

Soviets faced two wars in 1980s. First was economic and second was in Afghanistan. Economically USSR faced declining petrodollar revenues over a period of six years (1980-86) by as much as $20 billion a year as oil prices decreased by 80% to $17 a barrel. The Afghan war drained it militarily forcing Soviets to withdraw from Afghanistan in 1989 and the USSR disintegrated in the Gorbachev era (1986-91) as with a bankrupt treasury it was unable to meet its globally overextended economic obligations to spread communism.

The Soviets global expansion ambitions were rooted in petrodollars driven economy. The USSR imploded as petrodollars evaporated.America had replaced Pakistan for Iran as its frontline state in 1980s against USSR in the Cold War and Pakistan was assigned to challenge Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. America was joined by the petrodollars rich Arab states of Persian Gulf and Red Sea to provide Pakistan all material and financial aid to build jihadi forces.The petrodollar losses over six years (1980-86) suffered by the Soviets crippled its ability to continue occupation in a war torn Afghanistan. A limited success in Afghanistan in 1989 against Soviets was blown in to a myth that Afghanistan was the graveyard of empires. Well, does this myth also apply to Pakistan that tried and failed to establish a "strategic depth" with occupation of Afghanistan by Taliban (1994 - 2002)?After routing of al Qaeda and Taliban from Afghanistan in 2002, occupation of Afghanistan by allied forces and the six year (2003-08) American adventure in Iraq, the nuclear and missile armed Pakistani Generals and ruling elites were counting on America getting war fatigue to withdraw from Muslim lands.

Reality is that President Obama has announced that America will outlast terrorist in safe heavens of Afpakia. In announcing his new Afghanistan and Pakistan policy, President Obama articulated a clear and focused goal: “to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat al Qaeda in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and to prevent their return to either country in the future."

From the USA perspective the heart of the problem lies in Pakistan and the goal is to ensure that it "cannot be used as a base to launch attacks against the United States and its allies." The larger vital national interests of USA are to prevent Pakistan's arsenal of nuclear weapons and materials from falling into the hands of terrorists such as Osama bin Laden and other radical Islamic extremists by taking control of the country. In 2009 America hyphenated Afghanistan and Pakistan giving birth to Afpakia after six years of failed attempts to coax Pakistan, an ally on WOT, and its ruling elites to contain and may be neutralize the terrorism originating from safe heavens of Pakistan. The recent events culminating with the Second Lahore Attack at a police academy, the Mumbai mayhem, the First Lahore Attack on visiting Sri Lanka cricket team, repeated disruptions in Western Pakistan of American supply lines to Afghanistan and the Swat treaty of 2009 has shown to America that it had to shift gears and find a new frontline state.

The significance of this transformation after a detailed reevaluation of political situations in South Asia is that the Obama administration according to its latest White Papers has now designated Afghanistan, not Pakistan to be its frontline state and al Qaeda and its associates in safe heavens of Pakistan to be its enemy target. Following the cliché, "You lead, follow or step aside" America has let Pakistani Army Generals know what their choices are. The new games have been initiated in South Asia by the Obama Administration. In what capacity Pakistan participates in the games remains to be seen.

After Infy, Wipro, TCS & Satyam, its now HCL to cut variable pay & freeze salary

It was Infosys, TCS and then Wipro followed by Satyam, Now salary freeze and a truncated variable pay has been enforced in HCL. IT major HCL Technologies has announced a salary freeze and bonus cutbacks for all its employees through 2009-10 (Source: Times of India).

"According to a report in a business daily, IT major HCL Technologies has decided to mitigate pressures on operating margins by freezing salary increments through 2009-10. Citing tight demand in the US and Europe, declining volumes, and the need to further tighten expenses across business divisions, the company reportedly told its employees that there won’t be any wage hikes for the financial year ending July 31, 2009. "

"The report says that though the company has so far not opted for salary cut, a 25 per cent salary cut for the employees on the bench has been considered. The company has also cut retainer bonus, which averages 10 per cent of an employee's salary, from April 1. Employees travel allowances to have been sharply reduced. Onsite allowances too are said to have been slashed. HCL is also reportedly looking at suspending matching contributions to employee retirement plans. Earlier in January, HCL had cut about 280 jobs, or 8 per cent of its global workforce. Reports indicated that the company is learnt to have laid off about 450 people from its British Telecom practice. "

Update: Srilankan Cricketers attacked by Pakistani Terrorists

Update:-Latest reports coming from Pakistan indicate that All SriLankan Cricketers are out of danger.The reports have not been confirmed yet. The players reported injured are Thilan Samaraweera, Kumar Sangakkara, Ajantha Mendis, Mahela Jayawardene, Tharanga Paranavithana and Chaminda Vaas. Pacer Chaminda Vaas, too, was carried off in a stretcher.

The two wounded Sri Lankan cricketers have been named as Thilan Samaraweera and Tharanga Paranavitana. The ambush happened as the team were in a van near Lahore's Gaddafi stadium. One wounded player was hit in the leg and the other in the chest. Three more players were slightly hurt and more reports awaited regarding the head coach's condition.

Shootout in Lahore: 8 Sri Lankan cricketers hurt
Lahore: An official says eight members of Sri Lanka's national cricket team have been wounded after gunmen opened fire on their vehicle in eastern Pakistan.
Pakistan Cricket Board security official Nadeem Iqbal said the team members were hurt on Tuesday near the stadium where they were due to arrive to play the fifth day of the second cricket Test match against the hosts.
Sri Lankan team manager Brendon Kruppu confirmed the incident and said the team's wicketkeeper batsman, Kumar Sangakkara, was among the injured. Ajanth Mendis, Thilan Samaraweera and Tharanga Paranavithana were among those listed as wounded.
Security concerns have plagued Pakistan for years and some foreign sports teams including India have refused to play here.
Five policemen were killed when gunmen attacked the bus of the Sri Lankan cricket team as it was on its way to the Gaddafi stadium here for the second cricket Test against Pakistan, media reports said.
Sri Lanka has cancelled the tour.
TV channel DAWN NEWS reported that four policemen escorting the team bus were shot dead in the attack in which grenades were also lobbed.
Geo TV added that the gunmen opened fire on the cavalcade at the Liberty crossing on the way to the stadium for Sri Lankans were touring Pakistan after India pulled out with security concerns following the 26/11 attack on Mumbai.

Q: Let me start with a simple question that I think many people want you to answer. Does Satyam despite the terrible knock that it has faced have a future?
A: Absolutely, this company has great resources, outstanding people, technology know-how, fixed assets, and customers, you name it. So, this company has a great future.
Q: Will you talk first about people and Satyam is a people-led company. But given the knock it has suffered, given the tension and uncertainty they have been through, how can you be sure you can retain them? How can you be sure they even want to stay?
A: The response that we are getting from the employees of Satyam, they call them associates, is outstanding. They have been through a very traumatic few weeks ‑ very traumatic. It is understandable if they are uncertain, if they are feeling diffident. But we are reaching out to them. We are stabilizing the company, and are saying to them that they have a future. We have got cash in the company, and they are going to get their salaries on time etc.
Q: The first thing that they want to know when you reach out to them is what you hinted out or said quite clearly a moment ago that they will get their salaries on time. Are you saying to me today that the January salary due at the end of January will be paid promptly and in full?
A: No question about that. Globally, not only in India. Also, the early February salary is to be paid to all our employees in the US. We have the money, we have raised money. The employees of Satyam have increased collections, the money has flowed in. In the last two weeks, this has been done by the executives of Satyam.
Q: So, when newspapers and there was one in particular over the weekend Business Standard, which reported that there were offers being made to Satyam employees or associates as they preferred to be called by rivals and these were offers that were sometimes derisory because they were only offering up to 50% of the existing salary. Are you saying to me that no one is going to be tempted to take up that sort of offer?
A: First of all, offers are being made that we know and we know it from some of the employees. I think very few will go, maybe some will go. But as they see Satyam stabilizing, as they see money is in the company, as they see cash coming in from the banks and as they see customers staying they will stay with Satyam.
Q: The other side of the equation is what you mentioned customers staying. Are you confident that with the exception of four or five or a handful of companies that quit the others who have been with Satyam for 10 years, maybe even 15 years, will stay despite what has happened to Satyam’s reputation in the market?
A: A few have gone and few more will go. But we are reaching out to our customers around the world not only to retain them, but we are actually now after all that has happened negotiating for increased business with some of the world’s best names in the corporate sector.
Q: New people?
A: Old people and new people.
Q: So, when newspapers like The Hindu and The Economic Times says that you are in danger of losing customers to the tune that perhaps 25% of the companies revenues may disappear you are saying to me that is just rubbish?
A: I don’t think that will happen. By the way I have great respect and I have lots of friend in the media, but I think the media is also into a lot of new businesses this time like manufacturing news.
Q: So, what you are saying is that there is lot of misreporting, either malicious or more likely based on bad information?
A: Mostly based on wrong information.

My fellow citizens,

I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.
Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documents.

So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans.
That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.
These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land — a nagging fear that America's decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.
Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be met.
On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.

On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.
We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.
In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey has never been one of short-cuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted — for those who prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. This is the journey we continue today. We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on Earth. Our workers are no less productive than when this crisis began. Our minds are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. Our capacity remains undiminished. But our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions — that time has surely passed. Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.
For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act — not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost. We will begin to responsibly leave Iraq to its people, and forge a hard-earned peace in Afghanistan. With old friends and former foes, we will work tirelessly to lessen the nuclear threat, and roll back the specter of a warming planet. We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.

For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus — and non-believers. I just came out of a theater in USA after watching Ghajini and o'boy, Amir is back with a bang! This is going to be this year's best movie I bet. A very deserving movie, classic thriller with AR Rehman rocking.

Ghajini is Aamir Khan's one more master piece playing the hero who switches from a shy, taciturn tycoon who charismatically finds love with a simple but ambitious Mumbai gal (Asin) to a vulnerable killing machine who mauls his prey like a wounded tiger. Roars and grunts, included! Aamir has hardly anything to say in the entire film. Yet, he stills the show with a brilliant performance.

Aamir plays high point as action hero, where he brings back old-fashioned physical combat to Bollywood guts and gore, but he impresses as the diffident biz honcho too who is willing to travel in buses and scootys with his buoyant Ms Congeniality. Only because she thinks he's a struggling model who might just be ready to shoot for a ‘chaddi' ad in his desperation.

Costumes…my God…Van Hussein’s design suits Amir and the colorful formals are a must to watch by IT folks and corporate guys.

AR Rehman’s music is other reason for the success of this movie…the song Gujarish is simply the best number among all others!

The other place where the film scores is in its narration. Loosely inspired by Christopher Nolan's Memento , the film moves back and forth in time, as it juxtaposes an effervescent romance in the past against a brutalized, spaced-out present. The two time zones criss-cross interestingly, leaving enough suspense to keep the viewer attentive.

Amir’s role as Sanjay Singhania speaks several minds -- with his silences, his expressions, his body language, his helplessness, his guttural, anguished shrieks and then his vacant stare again. A man who suffers from short term memory loss must not only remember the horror of his past, but seek out his beloved's (Asin) killers too and finish them off. Even though, he might just forget what he's doing while battering them. All he has to help him in his mission are a few scrawls on his body, his walls, his unfinished diaries, his polaroid snapshots, his fading memory cells and a friendly medical student (Jiah Khan). Not much to go by, especially when the bad guys (Pradeep Rawat and co.) choose to erase most of the clues, including his tattoos.

Debutant actress Asin does a fantastic job in her first brk to Bollywood with a spontaneous rendition of the Good Samaritan Mumbai girl who breezes her way through life, with a smile and a helping hand for all and sundry. She is cute and gonna be there in Bollywood for a long time.

Debutant director A.R. Murugadoss proves a point to Bollywood that Tamil directors can rock the hindi speaking world of cinema. However, the role of bad guy could have been given to some other actors unlike the b-grade movie villian Rawat.

Surely this movie is going to be widely accepted by audiences all over.
My recommendations: Grab enough popcorns and coke to enjoy this 3 hr action-thriller-drama. A must watch for all!

Save my country! Save India from the perpetuators! What is happening to this world! I had watched live TV’s in India when the twin towers were crumbling down on 9-11. Today, I am watching the same TV channels in America when Mumbai is surpassing its own 9-11 experience! Horrible! I am in pain to see the helplessness of every Indians like me. Terrorists strike…hundreds die…politicians condemn and throw some compensation to the dead and injured! People get scared and people forget…life goes on till this date! Today is different as I feel every other Indians must be in horror and glued to TV sets!
As many as 125 people, including 14 police personnel, have been killed in the Mumbai terror attacks, the Union Home Ministry said on Thursday night (IST). Quoting latest figures received from Mumbai, the Ministry said the dead also included six foreigners and one home guard jawan. The remaining 104 were public. The Ministry said 327 people were injured: 26 policemen, 294 Indians and 7 foreigners. As time passes by, still gunshots, explosions are happening in Oberoi-Trident, Taj Mahal Hotel & Nariman Point.
What is more painful to realize is that there are still people in hostage situation at all three locations. At the same time, Indian Government’s strategy in tackling the situation. The tricky part is to allow the terrorists to get fatigued! I also am impressed the way NSG is conducting the operation moving block by block and rescuing innocent citizens.
I salute the brave cops and especially to ATS chief Mr. Hemant Karkare and his team who lead from the front and sacrificed their own lives to save others. We are proud of you Brave Man…May God rest your soul in peace. You have created a niche for yourselves in every Indian’s heart.

Its the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled - Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America.

Its the answer that led those who have been told for so long by so many to be cynical, and fearful, and doubtful of what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.

Its been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America.

I just received a very gracious call from Senator McCain. He fought long and hard in this campaign, and hes fought even longer and harder for the country he loves. He has endured sacrifices for America that most of us cannot begin to imagine, and we are better off for the service rendered by this brave and selfless leader. I congratulate him and Governor Palin for all they have achieved, and I look forward to working with them to renew this nations promise in the months ahead.

I want to thank my partner in this journey, a man who campaigned from his heart and spoke for the men and women he grew up with on the streets of Scranton and rode with on that train home to Delaware, the Vice President-elect of the United States, Joe Biden.

I would not be standing here tonight without the unyielding support of my best friend for the last sixteen years, the rock of our family and the love of my life, our nations next First Lady, Michelle Obama. Sasha and Malia, I love you both so much, and you have earned the new puppy thats coming with us to the White House. And while shes no longer with us, I know my grandmother is watching, along with the family that made me who I am. I miss them tonight, and know that my debt to them is beyond measure.

To my campaign manager David Plouffe, my chief strategist David Axelrod, and the best campaign team ever assembled in the history of politics - you made this happen, and I am forever grateful for what youve sacrificed to get it done.

But above all, I will never forget who this victory truly belongs to - it belongs to you.

I was never the likeliest candidate for this office. We didnt start with much money or many endorsements. Our campaign was not hatched in the halls of Washington - it began in the backyards of Des Moines and the living rooms of Concord and the front porches of Charleston.

It was built by working men and women who dug into what little savings they had to give five dollars and ten dollars and twenty dollars to this cause. It grew strength from the young people who rejected the myth of their generations apathy; who left their homes and their families for jobs that offered little pay and less sleep; from the not-so-young people who braved the bitter cold and scorching heat to knock on the doors of perfect strangers; from the millions of Americans who volunteered, and organized, and proved that more than two centuries later, a government of the people, by the people and for the people has not perished from this Earth. This is your victory.

I know you didnt do this just to win an election and I know you didnt do it for me. You did it because you understand the enormity of the task that lies ahead. For even as we celebrate tonight, we know the challenges that tomorrow will bring are the greatest of our lifetime - two wars, a planet in peril, the worst financial crisis in a century. Even as we stand here tonight, we know there are brave Americans waking up in the deserts of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan to risk their lives for us. There are mothers and fathers who will lie awake after their children fall asleep and wonder how theyll make the mortgage, or pay their doctors bills, or save enough for college. There is new energy to harness and new jobs to be created; new schools to build and threats to meet and alliances to repair.

The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America - I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you - we as a people will get there.

There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who wont agree with every decision or policy I make as President, and we know that government cant solve every problem. But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And above all, I will ask you join in the work of remaking this nation the only way its been done in America for two-hundred and twenty-one years - block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand.

What began twenty-one months ago in the depths of winter must not end on this autumn night. This victory alone is not the change we seek - it is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were. It cannot happen without you.

So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism; of service and responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves, but each other. Let us remember that if this financial crisis taught us anything, its that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers - in this country, we rise or fall as one nation; as one people.

Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long. Let us remember that it was a man from this state who first carried the banner of the Republican Party to the White House - a party founded on the values of self-reliance, individual liberty, and national unity. Those are values we all share, and while the Democratic Party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and determination to heal the divides that have held back our progress. And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn - I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President too.

And to all those watching tonight from beyond our shores, from parliaments and palaces to those who are huddled around radios in the forgotten corners of our world - our stories are singular, but our destiny is shared, and a new dawn of American leadership is at hand. This election had many firsts and many stories that will be told for generations. But one thats on my mind tonight is about a woman who cast her ballot in Atlanta. Shes a lot like the millions of others who stood in line to make their voice heard in this election except for one thing - Ann Nixon Cooper is 106 years old.

She was born just a generation past slavery; a time when there were no cars on the road or planes in the sky; when someone like her couldnt vote for two reasons - because she was a woman and because of the color of her skin.

And tonight, I think about all that shes seen throughout her century in America - the heartache and the hope; the struggle and the progress; the times we were told that we cant, and the people who pressed on with that American creed: Yes we can.

At a time when womens voices were silenced and their hopes dismissed, she lived to see them stand up and speak out and reach for the ballot. Yes we can.

When there was despair in the dust bowl and depression across the land, she saw a nation conquer fear itself with a New Deal, new jobs and a new sense of common purpose. Yes we can.

When the bombs fell on our harbor and tyranny threatened the world, she was there to witness a generation rise to greatness and a democracy was saved. Yes we can.

She was there for the buses in Montgomery, the hoses in Birmingham, a bridge in Selma, and a preacher from Atlanta who told a people that We Shall Overcome. Yes we can.

A man touched down on the moon, a wall came down in Berlin, a world was connected by our own science and imagination. And this year, in this election, she touched her finger to a screen, and cast her vote, because after 106 years in America, through the best of times and the darkest of hours, she knows how America can change. Yes we can.

America, we have come so far. We have seen so much. But there is so much more to do. So tonight, let us ask ourselves - if our children should live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky to live as long as Ann Nixon Cooper, what change will they see? What progress will we have made?

The burger joints or tea points where friends used to meet are gone and malls are now banning teenagers who aren't with adults. This is the sort of place they are going instead: Chat Rooms! You don't have to be old or young…there's no age bar…there's no gender war…still, if you choose to be a girl,

Experience counts! Twelve years ago, I was into chat rooms a big time. I remembered it so well because I was one of the very few people to start using it at that time. I met lot of friends in these chat rooms and even met many in real life. Have heard lots of stories, some were good and some were sad. Now I am grown and old. Sometimes, when I need to go back to my young-hood, I normally enter my favorite old chat room in Yahoo, Calcutta Global 2. My relationship with this room is more than half a decade old. Most of the other active members do keep coming here to hang out.

This room is more like a family for me. Even after a hectic working day in USA or UK…I run to this room to meet very familiar voices. This post is tribute to gr8 people under mask names (I haven't seen them face to face)

Bandrachndra: He is the Don. Maal pite rahte hain. Bahat Bhari Gala…but he has a command. Everyone respects him. He also sometimes get angry!

Khastha: Another old chap…he laughs, claps and dances!

I finally got rid of Core.cache.dsk & Core.sys!!!

Core.cache.dsk is spyware that may nestle into your Windows registry so it starts up with your system. Core.cache.dsk may record your keystrokes when you’re at a search engine site, and Core.cache.dsk may redirect your search queries to other sites. Core.cache.dsk may also create annoying popup ads that read “Powered by Zedo,” or redirect you to xads.Zedo.com, AAValue, URL.CPVfeed.com, Upsiral.com, and Searchlocal.ws to buy rogue anti-spyware.
If you like rogue anti-spyware, visit any of Core.cache.dsk’s sites.
If you like saving your time and money and being happy — bizarre concept, right? — remove Core.cache.dsk

Your best protection against Core.cache.dsk is to remove Core.cache.dsk processes, registry keys, DLLs, and other files ASAP.

Remove Core.cache.dsk

Manual removal of any spyware can be difficult. When you manually remove Core.cache.dsk, you have to fiddle with your registry and risk destroying your PC. It’s highly recommended you use an automatic spyware scanner to make sure you’re infected with Core.cache.dsk. Also, I recommend you backup your system any time before editing your registry.

In any files I mention above, “%System%” is a variable referring to your PC’s System folder. Maybe you renamed it, but by default your System folder is “C:\Windows\System32″ on Windows XP, “C:\Winnt\System32″ on Windows NT/2000,” or “C:\Windows\System” on Windows 95/98/Me.

“%Program_Files%”, “%ProgramFiles%”, or “%Profile%” is a variable referring to a folder in your PC where applications that aren’t a part of your PC’s operating system are installed by default. You may have changed this folder’s name or moved it, but if you didn’t touch it, find the folder as “C:\Program Files”.

If you’re having trouble finding this folder, you can locate it by looking up registry value “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ProgramFilesDir”.
Also, “%UserProfile%” is a variable referring to your current user’s profile folder. If you’re using Windows NT/2000/XP, by default this is “C:\Documents and Settings\[CURRENT USER]” (e.g., “C:\Documents and Settings\JoeSmith”).

Core.cache.dsk changed your homepage?
Click Windows Start menu > Control Panel > Internet Options. Next, under Home Page, select the General > Use Default. Type in the URL you want as your home page (e.g., “http://www.homepage.com”). Then select Apply > OK. You’ll want to open a fresh web page and make sure that your new default home page pops up.

How Do I Remove Core.cache.dsk Files?
Need help figuring out how to delete files, DLLs, and registry keys? While there’s some risk involved, and you should only manually remove Core.cache.dsk files if you’re comfortable and confident editing your system, you’ll find it’s fairly easy to delete Core.cache.dsk files in Windows.
How to delete Core.cache.dsk files in Windows XP and Vista:

Click your Windows Start menu, and from “Search,” click “For Files and Folders…“
A speech bubble will pop up asking you, “What do you want to search for?” Click “All files and folders.”
Type any file name in the search box, and select “Local Hard Drives.”
Click “Search.” Once the file is found, delete it.

How to stop Core.cache.dsk processes?

Click the Start menu, select Run.
Type taskmgr.exe into the the Run command box, and click “OK.” You can also launch the Task Manager by pressing keys ALT + CTRL + DELETE or CTRL + Shift + ESC.
Click Processes tab, and find Core.cache.dsk processes.
Once you’ve found the Core.cache.dsk processes, right-click them and select “End Process” to kill Core.cache.dsk

How to remove Core.cache.dsk registry keys?
Your Windows registry is the core of your Windows operating system, storing information about user settings, system preferences, and software, including which applications automatically launch at start up. Because of this, spyware, malware, and adware will often bury their own files into your Windows registry so that they automatically launch every time your start up your PC.

Because your registry is such a key piece of your Windows system, you should always backup your registry before you make any changes to it. Editing your registry can be intimidating if you’re not a computer expert, and when you change or a delete a critical registry key or registry value, there’s a chance you may need to reinstall your entire Windows operating system. Make sure your backup your registry before editing it.

Select your Windows menu “Start,” and click “Run.” An “Open” field will appear. Type “regedit” and click “OK” to open up your Registry Editor.
Registry Editor will open as a window with two panes. The left side Registry Editor’s window lets you select various registry keys, and the right side displays the registry values of the registry key you select.
To find a registry key, such as any Core.cache.dsk registry keys, select “Edit,” then select “Find,” and in the search bar type any of Core.cache.dsk’s registry keys.
As soon as Core.cache.dsk registry key appears, you can delete the Core.cache.dsk registry key by right-clicking it and selecting “Modify,” then clicking “Delete.”
Computer acting funny after you’ve edited your registry and deleted Core.cache.dsk registry keys? Just restore your registry with your backup.

How to remove Core.cache.dsk DLL files:
Like most any software, spyware, adware, and malware may also use DLL files. DLL is short for “dynamically linked library,” and Core.cache.dsk DLL files, like other DLLs, carryout predetermined tasks. To manually delete Core.cache.dsk DLL files, you’ll use Regsver32, a Windows tool designed to help you remove DLL and other files.

First you’ll locate Core.cache.dsk DLL files you want to delete. Open your Windows Start menu, then click “Run.”
Type “cmd” in Run, and click “OK.”
To change your current directory, type “cd” in the command box, press your “Space” key, and enter the full directory where the Core.cache.dsk DLL file is located.
If you’re not sure if the Core.cache.dsk DLL file is located in a particular directory, enter “dir” in the command box to display a directory’s contents. To go one directory back, enter “cd ..” in the command box and press “Enter.”
When you’ve located the Core.cache.dsk DLL file you want to remove, type “regsvr32 /u SampleDLLName.dll” (e.g., “regsvr32 /u jl27script.dll”) and press your “Enter” key.
That’s it.
If you want to restore Core.cache.dsk DLL file you removed, enter “regsvr32 DLLJustDeleted.dll” (e.g., “regsvr32 jl27script.dll”) into your command box, and press your “Enter” key.

How Did I Get Core.cache.dsk?

You may be wondering how Core.cache.dsk ended up on your PC. Core.cache.dsk Is an Extreme Danger !!!

The parasite may track all of your computer activity, and Core.cache.dsk may allow a hacker to control your computer. Core.cache.dsk may pipe more malware into your computer, and may disable your anti-spyware or anti-virus software and firewall, and block your access to anti-spyware sites. Core.cache.dsk may be very difficult to manually remove.

I finally got rid of Core.cache.dsk & Core.sys!!!

I also had Core.cache.dsk as a problem on my system but I stumbled upon a fix that worked for me.I am by no means an expert on these malware issues but maybe someone here who is canrationalize how I managed to clear this so simply.

What i did was this;

First i restarted the system in safe modesecond i found the Core.cache.dsk filethen i changed its file extension to .txt (Core.cache.txt)
I then opened the file with notepad and deleted its contents and saved itthen i changed its extension back to .dsk (Core.cache.dsk) and openedthe properties dialog and made it read only.
Didnt work after I rebooted!!!
Next I repeated step-1
Deleted Core.cache.dsk file from C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\core.cache.dsk
Rebooted. Didnt work!! The bloody various was again there!!
Repeted again step-1 & step-5
Deleted the Core.sys file
Pfewwwwwwwwwwwww...rebooted!! I was tired!
Yahooo!! It was gone! Ran CA Anti spyware...and so far so good...I am safe :)

Travel Story: Another Country USA...Another New Place...Santa Carla!

Would you imagine? The taxi was scheduled to pick me at 6 am to Heathrow Airport. I worked whole night, called up home at 1.30am...told Anie that I will start packing after the call. I should have done immediately...had I not slept until it was 5.54am!!!

Ramanan (The driver) was in time! I had to make him wait for 15 mins. The shortest ever time that I took pack my baggage's to carry from London to San Fransisco!! Don't know how I packed but I was in the cab at 6.25am...he he!!

Another round of security checks...another bunch of strangers...another Boeing 747-400 flight...another Country USA...another Immigration Port San Francisco! Hold on! The 1st immigration officer was very good but he didn't approve my request and sent me for 2nd round of interview. The 2nd officer, verified my form and found 3 mistakes (Phew!!!). Told don't show me that letter from your customer...I know what all u guys do! Next time come in H1-B.

It seems he liked me as a nice guy!!! What a complement! I got my I-94 and and there I was in front of another baggage collection tape! Collected and caught a shuttle for Santa Carla.

The shuttle was filled with Taiwanese...and most of them were ladies. After dropping them all, I was at Mariani Inn, Met Anupom and booked another Hotel Room for one month!!!

Called up everyone confirming my arrival...confirmed to myself that I am in a new town...with certain new set of challenges from a new Customer :)

TCS to stop Variable Pay?

Is a cut in variable pay in the offing for experienced staff at India's biggest IT company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)? There is a fear that TCS-- which last resorted to such a step in the third quarter of 2007-08 -- may not pay employees upwards of trainees a portion of their variable pay for the second quarter of 2008-09 as part of an austerity measure forced by the global financial meltdown.

The apprehension is that employees, excluding trainees, may be denied the non-fixed portion of their variable pay for July-September 2008. Provided the fears come true, about 70 per cent TCS employees or nearly 70,000 staff would be impacted by such a step. Contacted for a response, a TCS spokesperson said: "We are now in a silent period and will be able to offer clarity on this only after our Q2 results are announced."

Variable pay at TCS is divided into two components -- a fixed portion which an employee is assured of at all times, and a changeable proportion which alters depending on the performances of the employee and the company. For instance, if the variable pay of an employee is Rs 100, he is guaranteed the fixed part or Rs 70 under any circumstances.

Travel Story: From Hyderabd To Doha To London To Basingstoke!

The travel season for this quarter started again with my UK trip. My self promise to improve upon last moment packing seemed to be failed again. I dont know why I do the packing in last moment. As usual work pressure was mounted on the last day; had to finish almost 50 things before I could leave office at 5pm to give myself a haircut. I did...but by the time it was over, I was 40 mins late of my schedule. Had rush back home and packed everything with high volume of Anthem!

Reached airport at 12am and something reminded me that I had skipped breakfast, lunch & dinner. Grabbed some puffs and coffee and by the time I was boarded for Doha, it was 4.35 am.

In flight experience was not so fantastic! Not much boring though. On the way, I could see the desert of gulf. In Doha, I could see an Indian lady who later turned to be a surprise as my co passenger sitting next in a 2 by 2 seats. She is Payal, An 18 year ambitious girl on her way from Gujarat to London for graduation. Good in-flight experience was with her ...lil girl with a vision to stand behind her mother and two younger brothers.

We landed in time at Heathrow. But my ears were closed to deaf. Izaz, friend of Ramanan Singh was waiting to pick me up. The journey from Heathrow ro Basingstoke was full of discussion about Indian & Pakistan.

Then I was there at Basingstoke...same old hotel of Mr. Pal (Transitioned from Mr. Gurpal).
I had a decent room this time...slept as soon I entered...with a hope...that may bring lot many successes ahead with SONY!!

I was standing for 2 hrs on a line that was heading to an ICICI ATM machine with 210 other people with me. The rumor was ICICI bank will close and everyone will loose their money. Alas! The biggest and most profitable bank in India, ICICI bank could face this situation, I was nervous. Also I was in need of petty cash and got to be a victim of some rumors. It has a networth of over Rs470bn (i.e. over US$10bn) and a capital adequacy ratio of 13.4% at June 30, 2008, as against the regulatory requirement of 9.0%. Once I open my laptop and saw ICICI’s press release, thought of sharing with all:

ICICI Bank said on Tuesday that is aware that rumours are being repeatedly circulated in certain centres regarding the financial strength of the Bank. The Bank states that these rumours are baseless and malicious. As these rumours could create concern among the Bank's customers, the Bank reiterates that: ICICI Bank has a very strong capital position, having proactively raised Rs200bn (about US$5bn) in June 2007, almost doubling its capital base.

This is among the highest levels of capital adequacy in large Indian banks. This reflects the healthy capital position and comfortable level of leverage. Its banking and non-banking subsidiaries are also well-capitalised.

Fire in Channel Tunnel that connects England with France.

Train traffic through the Channel Tunnel linking England and France was halted on Thursday after a fire broke out, Eurotunnel officials said.
No one was injured in the blaze that began at 3:00 pm (1300 GMT), rescue services said.
About 30 people who were on a freight train, most of them truckers, were evacuated from the tunnel, said a spokesman for Eurotunnel safety services.

Manmohan Singh is King-Indo US Nuclear Deal-India's Benefit Analysis

India's 34-year ban on nuclear trade will be lifted after the nation reiterated pledges to maintain a moratorium on nuclear testing, paving the way for companies to sell reactors and fuel to the world's second most-populous state. India is the ONLY...I mean ONLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, who has got this go ahead by NSG, without signing either the NPT or the CTBT.

What benefits India does get out of this Deal?
Benefits to India are immense with this deal. First and foremost, is the de-facto recognition of India as a nuclear power? It is not clearly stated in the deal, but it’s an implicit understanding. India missed this opportunity in 1970-78. It is unlikely that this opportunity is to be missed again. Second, is future recognition of India as a permanent UN Security Council member? India has tried this in last three years. It has not succeeded. It is unlikely to succeed in next 10 years. But with a Trillion and a half dollar economy (8% growth over ten years), India will make this grade. When UN reforming movement gains strength in the future, India will be right there and waiting for this opportunity.

Economic benefits to India
There is an urgent need in India for capital to build its infrastructure and manufacturing base. And there is only one source to get it i.e. US & Europe. US and Europe at this moment are content with sending capital to China to supply them with consumer goods. The former very cleverly had avoided exporting manufacturing technology to supply high priced, high technology capital goods to China. This component together with auto-parts, pharmaceuticals and computer hardware could herald India into big leagues in ten years and beyond. Commercial Aircraft manufacture, ship building, factories to make giant power plants, steel making plants, mining & drilling hardware, petroleum & petrochemical plant building facilities could be ultimately shared with India. The latter within ten years will have a workforce sufficiently skilled to undertake all the foregoing. It will be beneficial to US. Labor costs in India, will always stay a third of US, and European costs. That will make India an ideal candidate for this technology transfer.

Opportunity of the KPO (Knowledge Process Off-shoring) is knocking at India’s door. Indian graduates of Science and Engineering will play a major role in this expansion. In about 5 years KPO Off-shoring will grow immensely. India stands to benefit most from it. Thanks to the edge, Indian science & technology graduates have established.

Political Benefits to India
After 50 years of isolation, India will have the opportunity to say something, in world forums like UN, WTO and World monetary lending institutions, and be heard. This was not the case previously. Reasons – India had no clout. With western economies in the future, tied more and more with India, the latter’s clout will improve. There will be frequent inter-government exchanges on matters of mutual interest. India could become a full member of the select group of G-8 members. Gone will be the days that US politicians will heap scorn on India, the way they are doing it today. The Indo – US Nuclear deal is in fact dumping the past and unlocking the hidden potential of the future. In addition Pakistan may get the cue and begin a rethink of its policies towards India.

Military Benefits to India
Indian military is in need to diversify its sourcing of military hardware. Russia has been a very reliable source for the past 40 years. This source has to be diversified. Ultimately all military hardware will have to be produced in India. But development time in India is too long and success factor is low. This has to be speeded up. The only way at India’s disposal is buy its immediate needs and import technology to develop its own weapon system. It is a bit expensive up front but pays dividend later as India joins the select group of countries as a source of military hardware.

Technological Leapfrog
The immediate benefit would be in getting the latest technology for nuclear power generation. Current progress in India on building its own nuclear power plants at best has a failing grade. Most of nuclear power plants in India are of other country’s design. The Indian Department of Atomic Energy falsely clings to the view that Fast Breeder Reactors will allow India to bridge the nuclear gap in the future. That future may be difficult to arrive. It may be too distant. This will hold economic development as hostage. Moreover developing nuclear technology is one thing, implementing it is another. For even homegrown technology, India will have to import critical components.

US Congress and its Support
The support of US Congress is crucial to the deal. This is a major headache, Bush Administration have to deal with. Currently, US Nuclear Lobby Group has the ear of the US Congress. The latter has become hostage to its past fallacies. They enacted bad laws in the past and are having difficulty modifying them. Now it is for the US Congress to redeem itself by changing the bad laws.

Conclusion
Thanks to diplomatic and political skills of President Bush and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, we have a deal which could lift India into the Trillion-dollar club, faster. They both have worked hard. Ten years from now when electricity supply situation in India’s households, industry and farms is significantly better, we have to thank them both. Thank God, we are not struck with in one sided, Iran - Pakistan – India pipeline deal. This would have held India permanently hostage to Pakistan. Out of all this all thanks to PM Manmohan Singh...THE SING IS KING!!

India Wins Accord to End 34-Year Ban on Nuclear Trade

Sept. 6 - India's 34-year ban on nuclear trade will be lifted after the nation reiterated pledges to maintain a moratorium on nuclear testing, paving the way for companies to sell reactors and fuel to the world's second most-populous state.

``The Nuclear Suppliers Group today adopted an exemption for nuclear exports to India,'' the Austrian Foreign Ministry said today in a statement after a third day of talks among the 45- member group in Vienna.
``This constitutes a major landmark in our quest for energy security,'' India's Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee said in televised comments. ``This decision will open a new chapter in India's cooperation with other countries in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.''

While the details of India's import waiver weren't immediately made public by the group, the U.S. proposal sought to give the south Asian state access to atomic fuels and technologies. They remained deadlocked when they adjourned around 2 a.m. Vienna time because of India's atomic import waiver didn't include restrictions on testing a nuclear weapon.

The Nuclear Suppliers Group, founded in 1974 to prevent countries from copying India's use of imported technology to make its first atomic bomb, needed to vote unanimously to pass the trade deal.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh termed the waiver a “historic day” for India even as Congress chief Sonia Gandhi congratulated him, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee the government for the diplomatic coup. Congress party leader Digvijay Singh also termed this a historic day for India as it ended nearly 40 years of nuclear isolation.

The government’s new ally the Samajwadi Party termed the waiver as a great victory for India and said it would help the country in its development. “India needs development and not nuclear bombs,” SP General Secretary Amar Singh said, criticising the opposition parties for “beating around the bush.”

“It is obvious that the deal is good for the country, as countries such as China and Pakistan are opposing it,” he said. “The saddest opposition has come from the BJP which has always stood for the furtherance of India’s nuclear programme, now they are supporting countries like Pakistan and China,” he added.

BEIJING: World champion Abhinav Bindra clinched India's first ever individual gold medal at the Olympics, winning 10m air rifle event at the Beijing Games here on Monday.

The 25-year-old, who qualified fourth for the event, shot an overall score of (596+140.5) 700.5 in a thrilling finale which went right down to the last shot. Bindra's historic feat makes him India's first-ever individual gold medallist, bettering the silver medal feat of double trap shooter Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore in Athens 2004.

"He is the best shooter in the world and I think his is a morale boosting feat for everyone in the contingent," a jubilant Indian Olympic Association President Suresh Kalmadi said after Bindra's win. "We are all very happy. He is a very hardworking athlete.

The entire shooting contingent is celebrating. We are very proud of him and it is just the beginning," national coach Sunny Thomas said. "Abhinav is a very calm and composed guy and doesn't get very excited," Thomas added. Bindra, a Khel Ratna awardee, had earlier won the gold medal in 2002 Commonwealth Games in the pairs event and silver in the individual event.

If all predictions go well, USA could get its Crown Prince in Barack Obama, the first Black president.

History is a scapegoat of its numbness & silence against exploitation and racism; rather moments spent introspecting a nation’s history like USA’s, amazes me as it surpasses through one more movement called “The Audacity of Hope”. Yes. Who else other than me can feel it as I am witnessing a black man swiping the emotions of most powerful nation & its citizens? His power of speeches has not only brought land slide victories across primaries & caucuses, but it has united a country that is currently suffering by fear mongers, recession like situation with economy that is going weaker day by day! People of this country are most like us in India. They wear & tear, fry & cry for growing vegetable & gas prices. The so-called Indian bureaucracy & corruption exist in great degree in this country powerfully controlled by lobbyist, corporate houses & cow-boy leaders! With strong anti-in combat waves, American citizens were truly expecting a leader who could motivate them to dream again! When Dr. Martn Luther King’s “The Great American Dream” was about to hide in darkness of history, here is a man who has nearly renamed Dr. King’s version with “The Audacity of Hope”.

He speaks about how a country can prosper by changing its outlook. “Change happens from the bottom up,” “It happens when ordinary people get involved.” “Hope is not blind optimism. Hope is not ignorance of the difficulties of the task ahead or the hurdles that stand in your way… It’s just the opposite. We all know how hard it’s going to be to pass healthcare reform; how difficult it will be to ween ourselves off our dependency on foreign oil. It’s understandable that reducing poverty or improving our schools don’t lend themselves to easy repair. I know because I’ve fought for these things on the streets. I fought in the courts. I’ve watched good legislation die because good intentions were not enough. And we didn’t have the political will or strategy or numbers to beat the powerful who held sway. I’ve seen this country get led into war because of fear and falsehood, and because nobody had the judgment or courage to stand up and ask the tough questions before troops were sent in to fight. I know these things. But what I also know is this… There is nothing this country has ever achieved where somebody somewhere didn’t have some hope.”

When Barack Obama stepped up to the podium at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, few outside of Illinois knew anything about him. That soon changed. Following his enormously well-received keynote address, his name began to take on almost messianic connotations. Democrats nationwide heralded Obama as the man who could best revitalize the party and reflect its ideals, while pundits of all stripes began to speculate that the White House may lie in his future. Increasingly aware of his growing celebrity, and also of the nearly-impossible expectations set out for him, Obama coasted to an easy election victory in November. The hard part lay ahead.

The day before he was sworn in, Obama was asked during a makeshift press conference, “What is your place in history?” Laughing, he reminded the reporter that he hadn’t yet cast a single vote. That question, however, encapsulates the conundrum that the junior senator from Illinois still faces today. Obama must strike a balance between maintaining his place in the national consciousness and projecting the image of a humble, diligent senator. The extent to which he has achieved that balance over the last year demonstrates the true depth of Obama’s political acumen.

I am not an American Citizen but I was watching Hardball yesterday. Having said that, I was upset by the bias nature of your journalism quality & your spontaneous questions to an Obama supporter (I am sorry to forget his name…I think he is a senator) demanding to list out Obama’s legislative accomplishments justify your biased reporting skills!!! The poor democratic senator was clueless and might he be an innocent supporter of Obama swept and inspired by his oratory. It happens when you invite a guest for discussing winning strategies and end him up by asking policy issues!!! True that your questions were substantial…but they proved me that along with the frustrated Clintons & Patrick J. Buchanan, Chrish Mathew is bewildered!!! The Clintons' Terror Pardons

It was nearly 10 p.m. on New Year's Eve, 1982. Two officers on New York Police Department's elite bomb squad rushed to headquarters at One Police Plaza, where minutes earlier an explosion had destroyed the entrance to the building. Lying amid the carnage was Police Officer Rocco Pascarella, his lower leg blasted off.

"He was ripped up like someone took a box cutter and shredded his face," remembered Detective Anthony Senft, one of the bomb-squad officers who answered the call 25 years ago. "We really didn't even know that he was a uniformed man until we found his weapon, that's how badly he was injured."

About 20 minutes later, Mr. Senft and his partner, Richard Pastorella, were blown 15 feet in the air as they knelt in protective gear to defuse another bomb. Detective Senft was blinded in one eye, his facial bones shattered, his hip severely fractured. Mr. Pastorella was blinded in both eyes and lost all the fingers of his right hand. A total of four bombs exploded in a single hour on that night, including at FBI headquarters in Manhattan and the federal courthouse in Brooklyn.

The perpetrators were members of Armed Forces of National Liberation, FALN (the Spanish acronym), a clandestine terrorist group devoted to bringing about independence for Puerto Rico through violent means. Its members waged war on America with bombings, arson, kidnappings, prison escapes, threats and intimidation. The most gruesome attack was the 1975 Fraunces Tavern bombing in Lower Manhattan. Timed to go off during the lunch-hour rush, the explosion decapitated one of the four people killed and injured another 60.

FALN bragged about the bloodbath, calling the victims "reactionary corporate executives" and threatening: "You have unleashed a storm from which you comfortable Yankees can't escape." By 1996, the FBI had linked FALN to 146 bombings and a string of armed robberies -- a reign of terror that resulted in nine deaths and hundreds of injured victims.

On Aug. 7, 1999, the one-year anniversary of the U.S. African embassy bombings that killed 257 people and injured 5,000, President Bill Clinton reaffirmed his commitment to the victims of terrorism, vowing that he "will not rest until justice is done." Four days later, while Congress was on summer recess, the White House quietly issued a press release announcing that the president was granting clemency to 16 imprisoned members of FALN. What began as a simple paragraph on the AP wire exploded into a major controversy.

Mr. Clinton justified the clemencies by asserting that the sentences were disproportionate to the crimes. None of the petitioners, he stated, had been directly involved in crimes that caused bodily harm to anyone. "For me," the president concluded, "the question, therefore, was whether their continuing incarceration served any meaningful purpose."

His comments, including the astonishing claim that the FALN prisoners were being unfairly punished because of "guilt by association," were widely condemned as a concession to terrorists. Further, they were seen as an outrageous slap in the face of the victims and a bitter betrayal of the cops and federal law enforcement officers who had put their lives on the line to protect the public and who had invested years of their careers to put these people behind bars. The U.S. Sentencing Commission affirmed a pre-existing Justice Department assessment that the sentences, ranging from 30 to 90 years, were "in line with sentences imposed in other cases for similar terrorist activity."

The prisoners were convicted on a variety of charges that included conspiracy, sedition, violation of the Hobbes Act (extortion by force, violence or fear), armed robbery and illegal possession of weapons and explosives -- including large quantities of C-4 plastic explosive, dynamite and huge caches of ammunition. Mr. Clinton's action was opposed by the FBI, the Bureau of Prisons, the U.S. attorney offices that prosecuted the cases and the victims whose lives had been shattered. In contravention of standard procedures, none of these agencies, victims or families of victims were consulted or notified prior to the president's announcement.

"I know the chilling evidence that convicted the petitioners," wrote Deborah Devaney, one of the federal prosecutors who spent years on the cases. "The conspirators made every effort to murder and maim. . . . A few dedicated federal agents are the only people who stood in their way."

Observed Judge George Layton, who sentenced four FALN defendants for their conspiracy to use military-grade explosives to break an FALN leader from Ft. Leavenworth Penitentiary and detonate bombs at other public buildings, "[T]his case . . . represents one of the finest examples of preventive law enforcement that has ever come to this court's attention in the 20-odd years it has been a judge and in the 20 years before that as a practicing lawyer in criminal cases."

The FBI cracked the cases with the discovery of an FALN safe house and bomb factory. Video surveillance showed two of those on the clemency list firing weapons and building bombs intended for an imminent attack at a U.S. military installation. FBI agents obtained a warrant and entered the premises, surreptitiously disarming the bombs whose components bore the unmistakable FALN signature. They found 24 pounds of dynamite, 24 blasting caps, weapons, disguises, false IDs and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

A total of six safe houses were ultimately uncovered. Seven hundred hours of surveillance video were recorded, resulting in a mountain of evidence connecting the 16 prisoners to multiple FALN operations past and present.

Federal law enforcement agencies considered these individuals so dangerous, extraordinary security precautions were taken at their numerous trials. Courthouse elevators were restricted and no one, including the court officers, was permitted to carry a firearm in the courtroom.

Given all this, why would Bill Clinton, who had ignored the 3,226 clemency petitions that had piled up on his desk over the years, suddenly reach into the stack and pluck out these 16 meritless cases? (The New York Times ran a column with the headline, "Bill's Little Gift.")

Hillary Rodham Clinton was in the midst of her state-wide "listening tour" in anticipation of her run for the U.S. Senate in New York, a state which included 1.3 million Hispanics. Three members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus -- Luis V. Gutierrez (D., Ill.), Jose E. Serrano, (D., N.Y.) and Nydia M. Velazquez, (D., N.Y.) -- along with local Hispanic politicians and leftist human-rights advocates, had been agitating for years on behalf of the FALN cases directly to the White House and first lady.

Initial reports stated that Mrs. Clinton supported the clemencies, but when public reaction went negative she changed course, issuing a short statement three weeks after the clemencies were announced. The prisoners' delay in refusing to renounce violence "speaks volumes," she said.
The Clintons were caught in an awkward predicament of their own making. The president had ignored federal guidelines for commutation of sentences, including the most fundamental: The prisoners hadn't actually asked for clemency.

To push the deal through, signed statements renouncing violence and expressing remorse were required by the Justice Department. The FALN prisoners, surely relishing the embarrassment and discomfiture they were causing the president and his wife, had previously declined to accept these conditions. Committed and unrepentant militants who did not accept the authority of the United States, they refused to apologize for activities they were proud of in order to obtain a clemency they never requested.

So desperate was the White House to get the deal finalized and out of the news, an unprecedented 16-way conference call was set up for the "petitioners" who were locked up in 11 different federal facilities so that they could strategize a response to the president's offer. Two eventually refused to renounce their cause, preferring to serve out their lengthy sentences rather than follow the White House script.

Mr. Clinton's fecklessness in the handling of these cases was demonstrated by the fact that none of the prisoners were required, as a standard condition of release, to cooperate in ongoing investigations of countless unsolved FALN bombing cases and other crimes. Mrs. Clinton's so-called disagreement with her husband on the matter made no mention of that fact. The risk of demanding such a requirement, of course, was that the prisoners might have proudly implicated themselves, causing the entire enterprise to implode, with maximum damage to the president and potentially sinking Hillary Clinton's Senate chances.

Meanwhile, Puerto Rican politicians in New York who'd been crowing to their constituents about the impending release of these "freedom fighters" were enraged and insulted at Hillary Clinton's withdrawal of support. "It was a horrible blunder," said State Sen. Olga A. Mendez. "She needs to learn the rules."

The first lady called her failure to consult the Puerto Rican political establishment before assessing the entire issue a mistake "that will never happen again" -- even as the cops who had been maimed and disfigured by FALN operations continued to be ignored. Tom and Joe Connor, two brothers who were little boys when their 33-year-old father, Frank, was killed in the Fraunces Tavern attack, were dumbstruck to learn that White House staffers referred to the FALN militants as "political prisoners" and were planning a meeting with their children to humanize their plight.

Members of Congress viewed the clemencies as a dangerous abuse of presidential power that could not go unchallenged. Resolutions condemning the president's action were passed with a vote of 95-2 in the Senate, 311-41 in the House. It was the most they could do; the president's pardon power, conferred by the Constitution, is absolute. The House launched an investigation, subpoenaing records from the White House and Justice in an effort to determine whether proper procedure had been followed. President Clinton promptly invoked executive privilege, putting Justice Department lawyers in the impossible position of admitting that they had sent the White House a recommendation on the issue, but barred from disclosing what it was.

Twenty-four hours before a scheduled Senate committee hearing, the DOJ withheld the FBI's written statement about the history of the FALN and an assessment of its current terrorist capability. "They pulled the plug on us," said an unnamed FBI official in a news report, referring to the Justice Department decision to prevent FBI testimony.

The investigation revealed that the White House was driving the effort to release the prisoners, rather than the other way around. White House aides created talking points and strategies for a public campaign on the prisoners' behalf included asking prominent individuals for letters supporting clemency.

Jeffrey Farrow, a key adviser on the White House Interagency Working Group for Puerto Rico recommended meetings with the president and the three leading members of Congressional Hispanic Caucus who were pushing the effort, stating in a March 6, 1999 email, "This is Gutierrez's [sic] top priority as well as of high constituent importance to Serrano and Velazquez." The next day, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Maria Echaveste sent an email to White House Counsel Charles Ruff, who was handling the clemency issue, supporting Mr. Farrow's view, saying, "Chuck -- Jeff's right about this -- very hot issue." Another adviser in the Working Group, Mayra Martinez-Fernandez, noted that releasing the prisoners would be "fairly easy to accomplish and will have a positive impact among strategic communities in the U.S. (read, voters)."

And there you have it. Votes.

While the pardon scandals that marked Bill and Hillary Clinton's final days in office are remembered as transactions involving cronies, criminals and campaign contributors, the FALN clemencies of 1999 should be remembered in the context of the increasing threat of domestic and transnational terrorism that was ramping up during the Clinton years of alleged peace and prosperity. To wit, the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, the 1995 Tokyo subway Sarin attack, the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, the 1995 "Bojinka" conspiracy to hijack airplanes and crash them into buildings, the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing, the 1996 Summer Olympics bombing, Osama bin Laden's 1996 and 1998 "Declarations of War" on America, the 1998 East African embassy bombings, the 2000 USS Sullivans bombing attempt, the 2000 USS Cole bombing, and the 2000 Millennium bombing plot.

It was within that context that the FBI gave its position on the FALN clemencies -- which the White House succeeded in keeping out of news coverage but ultimately failed to suppress -- stating that "the release of these individuals will psychologically and operationally enhance the ongoing violent and criminal activities of terrorist groups, not only in Puerto Rico, but throughout the world." The White House spun the clemencies as a sign of the president's universal commitment to "peace and reconciliation" just one year after Osama bin Laden told his followers that the United States is a "paper tiger" that can be attacked with impunity.

It would be a mistake to dismiss as "old news" the story of how and why these terrorists were released in light of the fact that it took place during the precise period when Bill Clinton now claims he was avidly engaged, even "obsessed," with efforts to protect the public from clandestine terrorist attacks. If Bill and Hillary Clinton were willing to pander to the demands of local Hispanic politicians and leftist human-rights activists defending bomb-makers convicted of seditious conspiracy, how might they stand up to pressure from other interest groups working in less obvious ways against U.S. interests in a post-9/11 world?

Radical Islamists are a sophisticated and determined enemy who understand that violence alone will not achieve their goals. Islamist front groups, representing themselves as rights organizations, are attempting to get a foothold here as they have already in parts of Western Europe by deftly exploiting ethnic and racial politics, agitating under the banner of civil liberties even as they are clamoring for the imposition of special Shariah law privileges in the public domain. They believe that the road to America's ultimate defeat is through the back door of policy and law and they are aggressively using money, influence and retail politics to achieve their goal.

On the campaign trail, the Clintons like to say that Bill is merely supportive and enthusiastic, "just like all the other candidates' spouses." Nothing could be further from the truth. Returning Bill and Hillary Clinton to the White House would present the country with the unprecedented situation of a former and current president simultaneously occupying the White House, the practical implications of which have yet to be fully explored.

The FALN clemencies provide a disturbing example of how the abuse or misuse of presidential prerogative, under the guise of policy, can be put in service of the personal and private activities of the president's spouse -- and beyond the reach of meaningful congressional oversight.

The President of United States of America is widely regarded as the Leader of the world; since last two decades, the entire world has been missing its leader! This time around, the wave of change is in full swing. This time around we are watching Future fighting against Past. In this context, Dr. Obama’s one more powerful speech would create one more history singing the lines of change and reassuring a mass that Yes We Can bring Change!

"Over two weeks ago, we saw the people of Iowa proclaim that our time for change has come. But there were those who doubted this country’s desire for something new – who said Iowa was a fluke not to be repeated again.

Well, tonight, the cynics who believed that what began in the snows of Iowa was just an illusion were told a different story by the good people of South Carolina.

After four great contests in every corner of this country, we have the most votes, the most delegates, and the most diverse coalition of Americans we’ve seen in a long, long time.

They are young and old; rich and poor. They are black and white; Latino and Asian. They are Democrats from Des Moines and Independents from Concord; Republicans from rural Nevada and young people across this country who’ve never had a reason to participate until now. And in nine days, nearly half the nation will have the chance to join us in saying that we are tired of business-as-usual in Washington, we are hungry for change, and we are ready to believe again...

But if there’s anything we’ve been reminded of since Iowa, it’s that the kind of change we seek will not come easy. Partly because we have fine candidates in the field – fierce competitors, worthy of respect. And as contentious as this campaign may get, we have to remember that this is a contest for the Democratic nomination, and that all of us share an abiding desire to end the disastrous policies of the current administration.
But there are real differences between the candidates. We are looking for more than just a change of party in the White House. We’re looking to fundamentally change the status quo in Washington – a status quo that extends beyond any particular party. And right now, that status quo is fighting back with everything it’s got; with the same old tactics that divide and distract us from solving the problems people face, whether those problems are health care they can’t afford or a mortgage they cannot pay.

So this will not be easy. Make no mistake about what we’re up against.

We are up against the belief that it’s ok for lobbyists to dominate our government – that they are just part of the system in Washington. But we know that the undue influence of lobbyists is part of the problem, and this election is our chance to say that we’re not going to let them stand in our way anymore.
We are up against the conventional thinking that says your ability to lead as President comes from longevity in Washington or proximity to the White House. But we know that real leadership is about candor, and judgment, and the ability to rally Americans from all walks of life around a common purpose – a higher purpose.

We are up against decades of bitter partisanship that cause politicians to demonize their opponents instead of coming together to make college affordable or energy cleaner; it’s the kind of partisanship where you’re not even allowed to say that a Republican had an idea – even if it’s one you never agreed with. That kind of politics is bad for our party, it’s bad for our country, and this is our chance to end it once and for all.
We are up against the idea that it’s acceptable to say anything and do anything to win an election. We know that this is exactly what’s wrong with our politics; this is why people don’t believe what their leaders say anymore; this is why they tune out. And this election is our chance to give the American people a reason to believe again.

And what we’ve seen in these last weeks is that we’re also up against forces that are not the fault of any one campaign, but feed the habits that prevent us from being who we want to be as a nation. It’s the politics that uses religion as a wedge, and patriotism as a bludgeon. A politics that tells us that we have to think, act, and even vote within the confines of the categories that supposedly define us. The assumption that young people are apathetic. The assumption that Republicans won’t cross over. The assumption that the wealthy care nothing for the poor, and that the poor don’t vote. The assumption that African-Americans can’t support the white candidate; whites can’t support the African-American candidate; blacks and Latinos can’t come together.

But we are here tonight to say that this is not the America we believe in. I did not travel around this state over the last year and see a white South Carolina or a black South Carolina. I saw South Carolina. I saw crumbling schools that are stealing the future of black children and white children. I saw shuttered mills and homes for sale that once belonged to Americans from all walks of life, and men and women of every color and creed who serve together, and fight together, and bleed together under the same proud flag. I saw what America is, and I believe in what this country can be.

That is the country I see. That is the country you see. But now it is up to us to help the entire nation embrace this vision. Because in the end, we are not just up against the ingrained and destructive habits of Washington, we are also struggling against our own doubts, our own fears, and our own cynicism. The change we seek has always required great struggle and sacrifice. And so this is a battle in our own hearts and minds about what kind of country we want and how hard we’re willing to work for it.

So let me remind you tonight that change will not be easy. That change will take time. There will be setbacks, and false starts, and sometimes we will make mistakes. But as hard as it may seem, we cannot lose hope. Because there are people all across this country who are counting us; who can’t afford another four years without health care or good schools or decent wages because our leaders couldn’t come together and get it done.

Theirs are the stories and voices we carry on from South Carolina.

The mother who can’t get Medicaid to cover all the needs of her sick child – she needs us to pass a health care plan that cuts costs and makes health care available and affordable for every single American.

The teacher who works another shift at Dunkin Donuts after school just to make ends meet – she needs us to reform our education system so that she gets better pay, and more support, and her students get the resources they need to achieve their dreams.

The Maytag worker who is now competing with his own teenager for a $7-an-hour job at Wal-Mart because the factory he gave his life to shut its doors – he needs us to stop giving tax breaks to companies that ship our jobs overseas and start putting them in the pockets of working Americans who deserve it. And struggling homeowners. And seniors who should retire with dignity and respect.

The woman who told me that she hasn’t been able to breathe since the day her nephew left for Iraq, or the soldier who doesn’t know his child because he’s on his third or fourth tour of duty – they need us to come together and put an end to a war that should’ve never been authorized and never been waged.

The choice in this election is not between regions or religions or genders. It’s not about rich versus poor; young versus old; and it is not about black versus white.
It’s about the past versus the future.

It’s about whether we settle for the same divisions and distractions and drama that passes for politics today, or whether we reach for a politics of common sense, and innovation – a shared sacrifice and shared prosperity.

There are those who will continue to tell us we cannot do this. That we cannot have what we long for. That we are peddling false hopes.

But here’s what I know. I know that when people say we can’t overcome all the big money and influence in Washington, I think of the elderly woman who sent me a contribution the other day – an envelope that had a money order for $3.01 along with a verse of scripture tucked inside. So don’t tell us change isn’t possible.

When I hear the cynical talk that blacks and whites and Latinos can’t join together and work together, I’m reminded of the Latino brothers and sisters I organized with, and stood with, and fought with side by side for jobs and justice on the streets of Chicago. So don’t tell us change can’t happen.

When I hear that we’ll never overcome the racial divide in our politics, I think about that Republican woman who used to work for Strom Thurmond, who’s now devoted to educating inner-city children and who went out onto the streets of South Carolina and knocked on doors for this campaign. Don’t tell me we can’t change.

Yes we can change.
Yes we can heal this nation.
Yes we can seize our future.

And as we leave this state with a new wind at our backs, and take this journey across the country we love with the message we’ve carried from the plains of Iowa to the hills of New Hampshire; from the Nevada desert to the South Carolina coast; the same message we had when we were up and when we were down – that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope; and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people in three simple words:
Yes.... We.... Can....!"

Breaking News : Monte Carlo Hotel is Burning!!!

The horror-show on News TV channels is back and at the moment, the famous Monte Carlo Hotel is on fire. This is a well known hotel in Las Vegas with around 3000 suites & casino. Amazingly, news channels are reporting a lady in bridal dress running out of the hotel! The United States of America, was about to come out of an economic disaster and now many people might be horrified to see fire fighters live on TV channels!

It certainly reminds me the years old memory of CNN news channel, when I was shocked to see a plane hitting the World Trade Centre!!!! Incidentally, the feeling of being in USA and witnessing something of that scale on the same channel is horrifying and frustrating!

Most of us remember the fire & casualties in the MGM hotels in 1980's. It is a coincidence that MGM is holds stakes in Monte Carlo Hotel too!! Hopefully, and if my prayers are listened, no one should get hurt this time as it seems the fire fighters could walk up to the terrace!

There is a Church in New England that lauds "America Bless God!!" Being an outsider at the moment, I can only pray, "God Bless America!"

Satyam Announced the Acquisition of Bridge Strategy Group

A very good news, basically for Satyam fans...as Satyam, the Global IT consulting major on Monday (21-1-08) announced the acquisition of Chicago-based management consulting firm Bridge Strategy Group for Rs 137.70 crore ($35 million). What does it mean? It opens the door of Indian Satyamites to get hand in glove with a well known American Counsulting Group. This would certainly enahance Satyam's Consulting Expertise down the line.

Post acquisition, Bridge Strategy would operate as a fully-owned subsidiary of Satyam, but maintain its name and brand, the IT major said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. "Bridge Strategy Group is a highly respected organisation that is well known for its exceptional professionals and its acumen in seven key industries," Satyam Founder and Chairman B Ramalinga Raju said. "By absorbing the company, we gain an immediate influx of brilliant and experienced strategy consultants," he added.

Through the acquisition the company expects to increase its speed and efficiency for providing full transformational solutions, providing highly strategic counsel to its clients. While Bridge Strategy would continue to serve customers in the US, Satyam's largest and most mature market, its services would be made available to Satyam clients worldwide through Satyam's advanced global delivery model, the company informed.

Sheridan, the current President of Bridge Strategy, would assume the role of CEO for the unit after the acquisition and report to Satyam Co-founder & CEO, Rama Raju, who would also be Chairman of Bridge Strategy Group. Also, all current partners and staff are expected to remain with the unit. Bridge develops profitable growth, operations design, performance improvement and execution strategies for clients. Shares of Satyam were trading at Rs 339, down 9.02 per cent on BSE in morning trade.

India Arrives ...

There were two powerful images of India that came through from Sydney Cricket Ground last week. The first was a visibly irate Harbhajan Singh in a verbal altercation with Andrew Symonds. The second was a very composed but undeniably haughty Anil Kumble throwing a variant of Bill Woodfull’s legendary remark on Bodyline back at the Australians: “There are two teams out there; only one is playing cricket.” Cricket, once a metaphor for life, has increasingly become associated with the national character.

In the heydays of socialism and the shortage economy, it is unlikely an Indian player would have reacted to Australian sledging the way Harbhajan did. It is more inconceivable that the captain would have had the temerity to call the rival team a bunch of cheats — which is what Kumble did with all the imperiousness at his disposal. Accosted by ticklish problems with possible racial overtones, Indians of an earlier generation — they would have been horrified by Sourav Ganguly’s shirt-waving act at Lord’s — would have fallen back on pretensions of moral superiority and walked away from a fight. We didn’t instinctively love turning the other cheek; nor were we that ridiculously committed to Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy. Yesterday’s India was defensive because it was irrelevant.

Invoking the Upanishads was just a cloak for our inability to deliver a well-aimed retaliatory blow. Before the mid-1990s, India was a bit player. There were individual Indians who counted for something but India was either the exotic backpacker’s paradise or, in the infamous words of US Ambassador Daniel Patrick Moniyan, “a country whose principal export is communicable disease”. Today, Kumble’s haughtiness counts more than Jawaharlal Nehru’s preachiness because it is backed by real clout. Kumble’s calibrated snarl and the collective outrage of India’s cricket fans are heard with respect because India dominates the cricket economy. Nehru’s refinement had nothing tangible to back him. Between the India of the Nano and the India of the Ambassador is the saga of many wasted decades. It is tragic that the significance of the boisterous assertion of swabhiman (self-esteem) by India’s cricketosphere isn’t understood by our political class. Caught in a time warp, many of those who made policy pronouncements at the Pravasi Bharatiya Sammelan didn’t realise the changed equations between India and its diaspora. Earlier India looked to the nonresidents to bolster a money-order economy, invest some spare cash and be charitable to our impoverished travellers. Today, it is the NRIs and PIO card-holders who are basking in the reflected glory of a rampaging India. Malaysian Indians want New Delhi to be a protective shield against xenophobic Islamism; doctors in the UK feel Whitehall should be told to not test Indian patience beyond a point; and techies in the US want India to leverage its strategic clout for their benefit.

It is not that diplomacy should be abruptly revamped to put the diaspora on top. New Delhi just needs to realise that it doesn’t behove an energised India to box below its class and stay in the Third World. In today’s world, it pays to be brash; it’s a sign of arrival. There is squeamishness and a pronounced inferiority complex that mark the dealings of older Indians with foreigners. They still carry the burden of servitude and deprivation. Most politicians, including those professing Hindu nationalism, suffer from this disability — witness their awkward body language during overseas visits.

Can you imagine Manmohan Singh telling Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao in a Kumble-like manner to stop needling India in Arunachal Pradesh? Political India lives in mental captivity; emerging India believes the strong shall inherit the earth. The merger of politics and swabhiman is overdue.

Vision 2020 For My Orissa...

I share a dream for my origin. A dream of a developed Orissa. An Orissa free from the clutches of chaotic political leaders & bureaucrats. At present she struggles. Millions of eyebrow still get curved upward when Orissa’s name comes to the world’s eye! Cyclone, draught, flood, dirty politics, bureaucracy, poverty & illiteracy are terms that have been constantly exploiting my Orissa. Many of us are still apathetic to the needs of the poor man on the roads. We still don't do our part to the society. We still splurge money on our own needs while these underprivileged still struggle to get a day's meal. This apathy and obliviousness to all social evils takes my state nowhere. If you share the same dream we are to achieve, we have to act. And act now!our suggestions, advises, adieas & contributios would make me remain obliged for this cause. This cause is unique as every Oriya like me must have felt what I feel.My initiative is six year old and I have been working towards it constantly. No one really knows the real Narendra Modi. The 57-year-old BJP leader prefers to remain solitary. He even dines alone. Only a handful of people are welcome to his residence. He seldom entertains guests. Apart from what is required to maintain high-level security, there are no trappings of power at his official residence: Bungalow No 26, Ministerial Enclave. Only three staffers - a cook and two peons - are posted there.

When the cook goes on leave, one of the peons prepares his meals. An early riser, Modi gets up around 5am. Among the first things, he surfs the net for news. The state information department delivers all the local newspapers at his doorstep. Rarely has anyone seen his family members at his residence. His mother Heeraba (95), who has lost her hearing, stays with her eldest son Soma (68) in the Ranip area of Ahmedabad. In October 2001 at the first swearing-in ceremony of Modi as chief minister, she stood alone in a corner watching her son on the stage.

That's when Modi confidante and state minister Anandi Patel spotted her and offered her a seat on the dais. Modi is the second among four brothers after Soma, who retired as an officer in the state's health department. He now manages an old-age home in Ahmedabad. The third, Prahlad (55), runs a fair price shop in the state capital. He is seen as a leader of fair price shop owners, frequently taking up their problems with the government. A year ago he led an agitation over bad quality goods supplied by the state and pilferage. Pankaj (50) is the youngest of the Modi brothers.

He works as a clerk in the information department in Gandhinagar. Most people did not know that he was the brother of an important politician till Modi became CM. The brothers grew up in Vadnagar, a small town about 100 km north of Ahmedabad, in Mehsana district. Modi was said to be an adventurous boy. The story goes that as a pre-teen he used to swim with friends in the Sharmistha lake which was infested with crocodiles. Once he caught a baby reptile and brought it home! Modi’s teachers and friends remember him as a boy who was cordial to his teachers but obstinate with fellow students. Prahlad Patel, who taught him in school, says, “Modi would never show his homework to the class monitor, only to the class teacher.” Modi was into oratory and drama early in life.

His friends and teachers still remember him for his powerful performances in two school plays: Hariyali no Hatyaro and Jogidas Khuman. Both plays were high on the patriotic quotient. Hariyali was set in the backdrop of the Indo-Pakistan war while the latter was based on the life of Khuman, a Kathiawadi rebel. Modi’s schoolmate Narendra Shastri recalls that the Gujarat CM was a star performer on stage during his childhood. “His theatrical skills are coming good in his political career,” he says. Some see in him shades of Morari Bapu, the wildly popular “kathavachak”.

The three-time Gujarat CM is an OBC. But Modi’s community Ghanchi forms less than one per cent of the state’s population. At the Vadnagar railway station in the early 1960s, he used to help his father, Damodardas, run a tea-stall. That experience helped him assist elder brother, Soma, in running a canteen at Gita Mandir bus station, Ahmedabad. Modi usually manned the cash counter. There, in 1966, he came in contact with a few Jan Sangh workers. The same day the teenager went to the local Jan Sangh office and offered to join the party. It is ironical that the teenager left politics within three months of joining the Jan Sangh. He thought himself to be a misfit in politics. Instead, he wanted to do social service.

The Parivaar didn’t want to let go of a promising teenager at a time when the RSS had only one shakha in Ahmedabad. Modi was taken to the RSS office at Hedgewar Bhavan in Maninagar where he used to stay and which now falls under his Vidhan Sabha constituency. Here, Sangh stalwarts like Nathalal Jhagada indoctrinated him. He developed a fixed way of looking at issues and people. Years later, he told a reporter that “ Maas khane wale logon ka vyavhar alag hota hai (Meat-eaters have a different temperament). He wasn’t referring to Muslims though, just his own party colleague Kashiram Rana.

Much earlier, Modi had told his RSS gurus that he had married as a child, a fact that could have come in the way of him becoming a pracharak. Modi keeps the marital status column blank while filling up forms. But it is well-known that a teacher named Jashodhaben in a Banaskantha school, is Modi’s child bride. She takes the CM for her husband even if she has never met him after the marriage. Jashodhaben never got married again. Sociologist Tridip Suhrud says that “celibacy is seen as the highest form of manhood.

This creates an aura around a person, seen in the case of Modi today.” Even old RSS hands say Modi is a loner. He used to read a lot of literature on Swami Vivekanand, Tilak, Golwalkar and he often challenged the views of his seniors. Due to his regular tussles with them, Modi often got shuttled during his tenure as a pracharak from 1974 to 1988. During the Emergency, he roamed the length and breadth of Gujarat on a motorcycle with the RSS prant pracharak Keshavrao Deshmukh, visiting families of RSS workers who were detained under the dreaded MISA. When Modi came into the BJP as the state’s organization secretary, he was seen as a high-flying pracharak used to the good things in life.

He travelled in cars and, when the BJP first came to power in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, he moved into a room on the first floor of the mayor’s bungalow at Law Garden. Later, when Modi moved to BJP’s Delhi HQ, he acquired a taste for expensive watches, pens and good clothes. Over the years, he has also crafted out a sartorial style of his own with a wardrobe of half-sleeve kurtas and tight churidars . It is said Modi spends hours on grooming sessions. During the Navratri, he visits eight-nine pandals every night. Clearly, the festival is brand-building time for him.

His recent politics, after the 2002 Gujarat killings in which over 2000 Muslims died, has been a shrewd mix of development, Gujarati asmita (identity) and communal views masking as war against terrorism. But understanding Modi, the politician, isn’t easy. RSS ideologue Vishnu Pandya says Modi has introduced pracharak Baba Saheb Apte’s concept “ Ek chalak nu varchasva (only an upright and a strong leader can deliver)” in politics. The middle-class is enamoured of him and in a recent article social scientist Ashis Nandy argues that Modi knows how to keep his core constituency captive through “rhetoric, fear and anxiety”. His legion of supporters seems to be growing.

The flood of congratulatory messages in cyber space shows he is undoubtedly Gujarat’s global man of the moment. There are many who feel Modi wouldn’t prosper in national politics because NDA allies will not be comfortable with him. However, Modi has shown a propensity for reinventing himself to suit the occasion.

How to remove Urls from Internet Explorer's Address Bar

This is a common problem faced by many internet users. Browsing to a website by typing in the Internet link (URL) directly in the address bar of Internet Explorer is common among users. This results in saving the URL and can be viewed by pulling down the list. Sometimes, you may want to remove, delete or clear the history of links from Internet Explorer address bar.To clear or the history of the address bar in IE only, without deleting your IE History folder, which contains history of links to pages that recently visited, one can refer to these steps. (Purely based on my experimental basis)

Close all Internet Explorer windows, then click on Start, then Run.
Run Registry Edit by typing RegEdit in the text box and click OK.
In Regedit, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Typed URLs
Delete all of the registry keys (in the form of urlx, where x is 1, 2, 3,….), or just the keys that contains URL link that you doesn’t want to appear in address bar.
Note: If you delete only certain keys, make sure the remaining keys are in sequential order start from url1. Or else all keys will be corrupted and deleted. One way to avoid the problem is the select the URL that you want to keep in the IE address bar before performing above steps, so that the selected links will go on top, hence occupying lower sequence number.

There is one more way to do this:

Right click on Start Menu
Then click on Properties.
Go to Start Menu tab
Click on Customize… (whichever that selectable).
Then go to Advanced tab.
Under the Recent documents box, click on Clear List will clean the history of IE address bar, as well as listing of recent documents being used or opened.
Alternatively, in Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options (or go to Control Panel, then click on Internet Options). In General tab, click Clear History. Note that this will also wipe off all your browsing and visited websites or web pages history as well.

Patriots Remain Giants With 16 Wins On A Row!

Patriots have made me a strong fan and I've got to mention the team's huge 38-35 victory over the New York Giants last night. Their win was No. 16 this season -- a perfect season.

My stay in New England has created me a huge NFL fan as the local team is a huge blockboster here. I am gonna buy a PAT Cap 2moro for sure.

Congratulation Patriots, but the season isn't over yet. 16-0 is great, but it's not as great as winning a Super Bowl trophy. We need that trophy to really cap off this great regular season.

Going 16-0 and recording the first unbeaten regular season since the 1972 Miami Dolphins is truly historic. The Giants made them earn it, opening a 28-16 lead, but the Patriots showed why they are a great team. They are an easy team to hate, but you still have to tip your cap to them for a great achievement.

The Brady-Moss combination ended Saturday night where no other quarterback-wide receiver duo ever has: fittingly, on a new page in the NFL record book, along with the rest of their unbeaten Patriots teammates after winning a hard-hitting 38-35 shootout against New York. "Whatever they were, I'm happy they got them," coach Bill Belichick said about the handful of records his team broke. "But I'm more happy for the team."
